It turns oit that Sarah was allergic to pine, so we swicth to fake, but it looks so nice and it take attention from the bad job tile that Its going to have to wait after I paid for the update papper work that is coming in january. Our tree is a collection of the things we love this is the girls/adoption section this year ornaments are not here yet, but no problem they will arrive soon. Macy's had this name ornaments that I got every year. Could not find last year but they are safe in a box some where.

CHRISTMAS IN OLD SAN JUAN

Last friday after school I took Sarah to take a walk around the old city and she love it. She's so into the christmas spirit and asking all sort of questions I hope this part of beliving in the magic of christmas last as much as posible. Three year olds are so funny I love this stage of her life, I only wish that Emily can joins us soon to enjoy this moments together. The photos are not in the order that I was hoping but no time for changing it again. But anyway this were taking around the parks on old san juan and then we went to eat at the Hard rock cafe where Sarah enjoy a good sunday.

Note to myself next year don't go at 9:00pm after work to buy a christmas tree. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this tree. Is deform and already has brown spot and to top it all Sarah is been sniffing a lot. I put a few ornaments to see if it look better, but it did not work. I think I going to buy a new one. Because this one is not going to last long and with the dust of the tiles It look really bad.

We have a very simple Thankgiving day, but the important thing eas that we were together, happy , healthy and still waiting for Miss Emily to join us. I also wish that we had our furniture at home and be done with the remodeling but one day (hope soon) will be finish.
Sarah is starting to get Christmas and asking lots of questions about the decorations and she made her first leter to santa.

While waiting our turn to get our paintings at the home depot store we expend our time at the christmas section, Sarah had the greatest time with all the lights and decor, I don't have to say that I went a little over board(again) but I love christmas and this year Sarah is getting to enjoy it more. At my house theres still no furniture and is half painted, but after thanksgiving the tree will be up no matter what.

With work, moving , dogs and the home renovations summer came and go without a fun day for Sarah, so last weekend it was all for her. First Chuck e Cheese and the beach Im shameful to say that living in an island last sunday was the first time I took my girl to the beach, I forgot who good it feels been on the beach, from now on will go more often. Sarah turn out to be a natural at the beach. She enjoy it a lot.

I got this travel kit I while ago to take it on the carry on its airline aproved and it had dogs. I had such a bad experience when I went to Vietnam, at the security check point they took my mascara because it was not in the zipplock back and it was new from Benefit, It was so stupid. But I was not in the mood to complain, I was way to nervous for that so I went to Vietnam with no mascara but I got my Sarah. Somebody woke up from her nap and want to be in the pictures.

I found this pretty girl in a clearance bin at Kmart for just $4.00. Could not let her there.

Gymboree had a great sale on the ladybud collection and I was there to get here a few things. The red outfit is from Burlingtons.

May was a busy month, the most important was that I SOLD my house FINALLY!!!. In took such a long time but now that chapter is close and ready to start a new one, can wait to close in our new house. Isabel's 5th birthday (sarah's big cousin) was at Chuck E cheeses? in the kids had a great time but that day the AC was not working on a sunday and it was hot.

Last saturday we went to the supermarket and Sarah made a new friend from Japan. The asian comunity is not to big, so its so nice that Sarah can spend some time with other asian kids and to top it all her name is also Sarah. As I saw them playing together I was imagine when Emily will be here playing with Sarah and be a mom of two. Dream a little dream.

This is a sweet and sour celebration for me. But I feel so blessed for having Sarah as my daugther and to had the best mother in the world. I want to wish (a little bit late) the best for all those expecting mother out there that every day wake up to check every single rumor that they could find with the hope to find good news(including me), let's stay strong, we have going thru some very bad times, but things has to go better. Sarah field day was two weeks ago. She had a great time playing in the slides, since princess don't go runing. She spent the day with her best friend Eduardo going down the slide over and over again, even their teacher prefer the slide too.

March 29 our second anniversary of been a family, Thank you God for this precious child that makes my life so happy every single day.

As a tradition during the G&R ceremony(gotcha day) the director of the orphanage gave each girl a gift so they could remember Vietnam. While in Vietnam I gather some items to give her during our G&R anniversary, last year was a jade bangle and this year it was a music instrument call stonne flock? She enjoy it more than the bangle.

It's been a long time since my last post, but I was busy and I was not in the mood to blog. But today I want to share my journey to Sarah as a way to compare how two different countries work.

When I was 15 I learnd about China's one child policy, since then that became my dream of one day go to this country to get one of this unwanted babies. Well time pass and two weeks after my mom died(on 2/14/06) someone left a newspaper at my work place and the front page news was about International adoptions, after reading the story I contact the agency to check if I could adopt from China and the nice lady told that the wait for singles it was very long and she suggested that I try Vietnam and the wait will be 12 months for a baby girl. This country was never a choice my girl was in China and China was the choice, but after reading about the singles quota and learning more about Vietnam and all the children available there I made the choice to go with Vietnam and try to get one of those single spots for China. Since I always wanted at least two kids that will be a good choice. So I start my paperwork on may 2006, but I start to reading in the groups about some agencies and a more short wait, so I contact another agency and the person in charge told me that the wait for a baby girl will be six months, so I went and swicth agencies and by the end of november my Dossier made its way to Hanoi. In the meantime one on the chinese agencies call me with the news that I wont one of the singles spots so back to the paperchasing again.

On january 10, 2007 I contact the Vietnam cordinator to check what # I was in their list(Vietnam put you by numbers not LID dates) and she told me that they just recevied referrals and that they had three families waiting and of course I was one of them, so I thought that by next month I will get my referral which was good a two month wait not bad at all.

Next day I was at work and around 3:00 I went to check my emails and there was one from my agency with the word referral, I thought she's sending me information for my upcoming referral, but as soon as I open the mesage with the words Are you sitting down? the floor started to move while I kept reading this was my REFERRAL I was looking at my baby girl for the first time, as I look at her I was thinking I know you, I have seen you before it was so strange feeling this conection with someome so far away and to feel her so close to you. She finish the message with the word let me know if you want her? O f course the respond was YES,YES,YES. From that day I had to wait for the next three months for my TA.

On march 21, 2006 at six am I took off to Vietanm to get my Sarah , since then I feel that I have been giving the greatest gift ever, life as change in so many ways but for good. The only black cloud is this wait that has no end. Why it gets longer and longer? Vietnam is so tiny compare with China and they dont have the one child policy. My only wish is that at least the wait does not get longer, to know that we are getting somewhere. That my daugthers can grow up together. LET'S KEEPING THE FAITH!!!

FIESTAS DE LA CALLE SAN SEBASTIAN

Last week was "Las Fiestas de la calle San Sebastian", every year people from all parts of the island come to this street in old san juan call San Sebastian is like a mardi gra celebration music, lots of drinking and party during that weekend, plus there an area the people come to sell hand craft stuff. Beutiful pieces that are unique and made with diferent kinds of materials. Since Sarah came I can't during the night, because it gets so crowded that you can't even walk, but for the young people really enjoy it.

I manege to sneak during the day to get a few things for the girls.

QUILTS

Yesterday the quilts arrived, So 100 wish quilt, room, beding, clothes, toys, big sister ready for Emily's arrival we just need more speed from the CCAA( I sound like a broken record) to complete our family or to finish with the adoption process. So here some pictures of the quitls, I got in so many swaps that I end up with material for a few quilts. For the 100 wish quitl.

If you notice all the quilts have a pink heart, well the hearts were made from a cotton shirt that my mom had. Since she's not longer with us, I thought that it will be nice to include something of hers in the girls quitls.

This quilt is for Sarah, she is from the year of the dog like her mom.

How fast and how slow time comes and go during this process and no one knows how long will be still waiting. So far 20 months and still in review I hope the CCAA start doing something about us, I don't think is fair keeping so many families living like this, not knowing when of how long we are going to be still waiting and the sad part is the babies are there why not to work to make the process more faster for us and the children.

OUTLET SHOOPING & ORNAMENTS

One day I will have two of these ornaments in my tree. Not just these wish one to be here.

Yesterday Sarah went to her doctor and when we left, I decided to take the rest of the day off and we went to the outlets to finish our christmas shooping. Sarah had so much fun in the play area and we spend a good day just the two of us.

SAN JUAN INTERNATIONAL DOG SHOW 2008

A few weeks ago was the International Dog show In san juan dogs from around the world came here to get or try to get their Int. tittles if a tought because the judges come from diferrent countries and sometimes their standars are different from the American standard, but after a break from the shows I took Jake and Cara and both of them did a very good job, the two of them finished their INT. Tittles and Sarah did so good for a two year old she so into dogs too, maybe next year she can go to the ring, let's see.Nearly and her owner Ana waiting to be judge. She got one of the tittles.

How to keep a girl busy while you are grooming? Lots of candy and a ride with a friend.

Mysti had a check up at the vet she has problems going full term with her pregnancies(surprise)lots of tittles and a super pedigree and no babies , she has the best personality ever for the show ring, plus she's the house diva and the lider of the pack she keep the rest on line, she's my first girl and I love her to so much and I know she will be a great mom one day if is not meant to be it wont matter she is love anyway. Lots of places to be, but my purse is the best.

I was looking at some blogs and saw these beautiful bows on kim's blog and my shooping vein start to pumping,Im so weak when it comes to get things for the girls. I was behaving very good(really) but theres so many pretty things for girls and I start to picture them wering the outfits, bows and shoes. To my luck Sarah loves bows, she has to have bows in her head and in hair dolls hair. I know these bows wont last to get to Emily but theres a lot (really a lot) of stuff that Emily will wear. My beautiful model with the butterfly bow.

In summary, it is our understanding that, effective immediately, families who filed Form I-600A, Application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition, prior to April 1, 2008 and whose USCIS approval of that petition (aka the I-171H/I-797C) has not expired, will be able to proceed with their adoption under the I-600A process if they take certain steps while their approval remains valid. This means that families with valid Form I-600A approvals will not be required to transition to The Hague process via the Form I-800A. In order to maintain their status as ‘grandfathered’ cases, families with non-expired Form I-600A approvals must request a one-time free extension. Then, prior to the expiration of the one-time free extension, families must file a new Form I-600A and pay the appropriate fee.

This news is a relive for all of us that will be affected if we had to change to the new rules, a good news in this long long road to China.

I got a package from my friend Judy, she is also my Jake breeder and he spent a few months with her while he finished is Canadian Ch. and she was so pruod of him that he choose him to be in the Canadian calendar of 2009, plus in was in the monthly magazine, she send my a calendar, the magazine, his ribbons and to top it all chocolate fill with maple syrup (just what I need!), this little things makes you keep working, grooming and training.

Finally my cook top arrived, now I can practice my cooking and try do blend the asian flavors with latin food so the girls will now the taste of their birth countries and a rookie at the kitchen so this will be a trial an error.

This morning I had to park at the top of parking lot I like to park there because you can look at the pier and see the cruise ships coming and going, this morning the marines where making some repairs to an air carrier it was so big that it took one side of the pier and after lots of rainy days we have a beautiful sunshine day.

Since my last post there has been good things and a few not that good, well the not that good one is about my house, well my buyer's house was also selling his aparment and in oder to close with me he needs to close his apartment first, but when the bank call his buyers to close they did not show up and as a result our closing went down the hill, for some irreponsable people(doctors non the less) so with a heartbreak we are back to the showings someting that I hate, paiting the house and doing some repairs that I hope would help for a fast sale(Lisa la porte from design to sell is in town I could use help) I saw a house that I like and that works for all of us so I hope it will be waiting us.

On the good news, the day that I good the news about the house when I got home I was in the car looking at the house and thinking about all the boxes made, back to showing, about my poor furry babies all the cramp in the garage while I show the house and I was getting so piss when I heard my next door neighbor calling me and I was oh crap now what, but she was calling me to tell me that finally she got a daugther she and her husband wait over four years to get a referral (a domestic one) a three year old girl and she was calling me to invite us to her birthday party( she turn four last saturday) and that news help my anger to go down a lot maybe that little girl will need our help in her transition to her new family and the next day my cyber shower gift arrived, thank you so much Kim I love it all and sorry for the delay post but I was not in thepost mood.

Also I decided to do things that I was waiting to move to do. Like getting in shape I need to be in top condition to China I want to climb the great wall all the way(or at least I will try) plus with to kids I will need all the energy I can get.

Also I doing Bento meals to take to work and for snacks for Sarah and its been a challenge because my Hi tech? kitchen dont help for the last year and half my top broke and i been using a camping stove that takes about 30 minute to boil water but this friday my new one will arrive and Ill be able to do more stuff, in the blogs about bento they look so easy to make but in reality its a challlenge to arrange to food in those tiny boxes, but with practice and with the right supplies I will do better.
And to finish this post my china girl Ronnie is in Ohio with her handler Luke to start her show career I miss her already but is good for her and I hope to have her back home soon.

Sylvia send me this pictures of Emily's quilt, I wanted something simple that the squares were the main focus. It's weird to have a crane next to a halloween theme but those are her squares. The other night I found this little guy on the sink, is a coqui , you can only find him in Puerto Rico, he looks like a frog but he's not , he's name comes from the way it's sing at nigth you can hear him sing COQUI, COQUI.

No new house yet, all the beautiful houses on the internet are not that pretty in real life. I close my house in a month and Im starting to worry, I want to find the HOUSE the one we are going to life until Im ready to a home LOL. Also packing we a toddler does not make things easy, you put things in a box and she take it out.

FINALLY!! I sold my house, I was starting to loose my faith but God help me and now we can move on.
Now the thought part find a house that is good for the girls and the dogs in TWO MONTHS!
What Im looking for:
3-4 bedrooms
2+ bathrooms
a good size kitchen
an a yard to build a kennel for my furry babies they are the reason for the move show dogs needs a special care and my current house is not good for that plus babies and a pool don't macth, Sarah has not been able to enjoy the yard much because Im afraid of the pool. So let see where we will end up.

Yesterday we went to a dog fun macht at la sebastiana, sarah played all the day and had a great time and our furry babies did really well Elvis our problem child got his Canine Good Citizen Certificate, for me that wa slike a best in shoe because my Elvis is kind of Bipolar and not very social, so for him to be around other dogs and strange people took a lot of time, he had such a great time that i'm planing to take him to other obidience events and Cara won the breed and second place in group.
